No not Scion Pornagraphy, I doubt they're ready to get anyone's pants jimmied up any time soon, but I'm pretty sure a good number of you guy/girls have seen Scions new lineup consisting of the iA and the iMatrix... m I meant iM.
I want to focus on the iA and what that and the FRS could do for this brand.
I mean look at it, personally I dig the front end, and I'm not upset it's a Mazda, this is the first decent step Scion has made towards a volume car that's fun to drive, I'm assuming all the go fast bits you can buy for a Mazda 2 will bolt right on this sucker. Is it wrong for Scion to outsource Fun ? Look at the FRS, it's sorta fun, it looks sporty its the first affordable RWD Toyota funster in years, but it's not enough.
Scion has been around long enough to figure out its customer base, but they're not willing to admit it. They wanted teens and young college students, but we're broke, and I doubt my own car will come close to a fair Trade in. Scion should aim for that group right after college that want the handling and fun of Mini or a MX5, but they need price and reliability on their side.
But wait Matthew didn't you just describe Mazda ? Yes, yes I did. But Scion has one now, it hits all the points
It's not to late for Scion to fight against Mini if they were willing to offer premium interior options, the Auris era Matrix GRR! IM.... Gosh. That thing is boring, but they can easily go up against the Golf and win in terms of reliability.
So who can scions market be if they get their heads on straight.
VW and Mini are a great start, they both offer niche, fun products as well as entry level Luxury options. Scion can run the tC and the FRS back to back, the TC can be the car you buy because it looks cool and it's cheap, and the FRS for the Enthusiast. Ala the Eos and the GTi.
Similarly for the iA, it's spunky and it's Cute, it's cheaper than the Mini, but knowing its Mazda underpinnings it's just as fun to drive, they just need to grab an interior consultant from Lexus.
The iM, entry level Golf competitor.

Just saying, that your Scion posts will be ignored, since this is Jalopnik, where all things Toyota/Lexus/Scion will be hated on for no real reason whatsoever, regardless of whether their products are actually good or not.
For more details on this unjustified bias/hatre, just ask the resident expert Andrew P Collins, or any other Jalopnik editors, or any Jalopnik commenters.
